This drawing of “Tribeca” was from my first trip to New York City with my now husband. We were able to explore so many different locations and, to me, this felt like such a great representation of a New York City fall day.
This drawing has so many small details to it. It happens to have the most easter eggs that I have ever featured in a drawing, 26. A few to mention: I put myself as the woman walking across the street and my husband is the person wearing blue on the left. I also made sure to draw every other pedestrian walking in the opposite direction of us so that we stood out more. I also featured my family members names, my birthday, favorite bible verse, initials, and fun phrases I like to say on a daily basis.
In total this drawing took me 80 hours and 93 total colored pencils to create. This is one of those drawings where you will find something new anytime you look at it and will help make any space feel special. It is the perfect way to feel like you are people watching in New York all while being in your own home.
